Course themes

As you may have noticed in the latest revision of our fluid course syllabus, there are now course "themes" for each week of the semester. Your research projects do not necessarily have to fit one of these themes, but since we'll focus on each, I want you to at least consider how these themes might impact your projects.

The theme groups are as follows:
  • Rhetoric and the digital world
  • Contextualism and theory
  • Transduction and modes
  • Visual rhetoric
  • What is "scholarly" in multimodal work
  • Digital divide and academic privacy
  • Identity
  • Subjectivity and agency
  • Open source movement
  • Gaming and virtual worlds
Which theme(s) do you feel fit your research project? Which interest you? How does each theme fit into this class? How do the themes overlap?
